I am finally getting around to posting a few of my favorite shots from the 4th of July. We spent the 4th on Whidbey Island. My husband's family has had a beach house there for many years. It is a wonderful place for a good old fashioned 4th of July celebration. Complete with potato sack races, egg toss, relay races, and lots of wonderful food.
This year's celebration was accompanied by gray skies as usual. Summer doesn't officially begin in the Seattle area until sometime after the fourth of July. This year has been no exception.
I hope you enjoy the some of the sights of a Whidbey Island 4th of July.:-)

Pulling up to the ferry line. I always love this view.
I am a bit obsessed with all of the lavender you can find around. It is so beautiful and smells heavenly. I just love how it looks along this path and against this white washed beach home.

I love the intensity on their faces and their swinging hair. My niece is the red head closest in frame and my Miss Liv is the one with the long ponytail.

Found beach treasures, such as agates and shells, fill jars in the window sill of the beach house.
