Sweet little mushroom hunting Santa along with his “Deer” little friend. I love to look at this little grouping in my kitchen window while I do the dishes.

Day 2~ My morning coffee in my Starbucks Christmas mug. Can you see Santa eyeing my coffee in background.
I hope your Christmas preparations, shopping and decorating are enjoyable. I am off for the weekend in Seattle with my one of my sisters(we’ll miss you Jess!) and my cousins for our annual Christmas girls weekend in the City. Here’s the post from last year.
I’ll be back on Sunday night with Countdown days 3 and 4. Until then have a great weekend!

I am starting the countdown with this little Christmas craft I put together and did with the "Stars", a girl's youth group I help out with at church. The girls are 3rd to 5th graders and so much fun. Last night was craft night and this project seemed almost perfect for this age. If only the glue would dry a little more quickly. The girls were a little impatient so there ended up being quite a a few “re-glues”. I found this project on the family fun website. They always seem to have so many great kid crafts. I have used quite a few of them and loved every single one.
Lets hope I can keep up with this countdown. This is my third year trying. Lets hope the third time is the charm. I would love to actually get through all 25 days. Here’s to hoping.

On our way out of town and back to Seattle, I caught a glimpse of these beautiful berries with snow piled on top. Red, green and white, a Christmas delight!

On the second day of our little weekend getaway in the mountains we took the kids inner-tubing down Ski Hill. Boy, did they have a blast! The snow was coming down like CRAZY! I wish I could have taken more pictures but my camera was getting too wet.
Hold on to your hats, it's going to be a bumpy ride....
...full of twists and turns.

My boy. He is such a ham.
We spent the weekend in Leavenworth, Wa, at an amazing cabin with some friends. It snowed like crazy and the kids had so much fun. It's fun anytime of year, but especially enchanting in the winter time.
When we returned home, we found our basement had flooded with water. So far this month we have had 6.78 inches of precipitation as compared to the average of 3.3in for the entire month of December.
Here are some pictures of what I saw as we drove down from the mountains(These are drive by shooting pics, so please disregard their quality). We knew when we saw all of the water flooding the streets, there was a chance of some flooding in our downstairs.
This is why I am so behind on my 25 days of Christmas posts. I have been cleaning up and drying out our basement. Thankfully nothing of great importance was lost, as we have been through this before, we know not to keep anything of real value laying around down there. Anyhoo...I will be trying to catch up with my 25 days of Christmas project and post a couple days at a time. I hope you are all well and accomplishing much as this last weekend before Christmas approaches. Days 10 and 11 will be posted shortly, stay tuned!:)

I love these little Christmas elves that have found a home on my counter. These little guys are Shiny Brite reproductions. I only have a couple of the vintage fellows...I am always on the hunt for these little merry makers.
