On the second day of our little weekend getaway in the mountains we took the kids inner-tubing down Ski Hill. Boy, did they have a blast! The snow was coming down like CRAZY! I wish I could have taken more pictures but my camera was getting too wet.
Hold on to your hats, it's going to be a bumpy ride....
...full of twists and turns.

My boy. He is such a ham.
We spent the weekend in Leavenworth, Wa, at an amazing cabin with some friends. It snowed like crazy and the kids had so much fun. It's fun anytime of year, but especially enchanting in the winter time.
When we returned home, we found our basement had flooded with water. So far this month we have had 6.78 inches of precipitation as compared to the average of 3.3in for the entire month of December.
Here are some pictures of what I saw as we drove down from the mountains(These are drive by shooting pics, so please disregard their quality). We knew when we saw all of the water flooding the streets, there was a chance of some flooding in our downstairs.
This is why I am so behind on my 25 days of Christmas posts. I have been cleaning up and drying out our basement. Thankfully nothing of great importance was lost, as we have been through this before, we know not to keep anything of real value laying around down there. Anyhoo...I will be trying to catch up with my 25 days of Christmas project and post a couple days at a time. I hope you are all well and accomplishing much as this last weekend before Christmas approaches. Days 10 and 11 will be posted shortly, stay tuned!:)

I love these little Christmas elves that have found a home on my counter. These little guys are Shiny Brite reproductions. I only have a couple of the vintage fellows...I am always on the hunt for these little merry makers.

I wasn't able to post over the weekend due to the fact I was in the city with my favorite girls for our annual girl's Christmas weekend. We spent the entire two days shopping, talking, eating, talking, people watching, talking, drinking coffee, talking, and taking in a movie...oh and some more talking.
Seattle is absolutely beautiful and bursting with holiday excitement. I just love the way the city feels and looks this time of year. I hope your weekend was filled with the fun and excitement of the holidays that are fast approaching.

I can't believe I haven't posted since October! Wow, how time flies! Well, as it always is with me, life gets crazy and hectic, and the blog is in the backseat once again. Hopefully, I will be able to be a little more diligent this month, after all it's my favorite time of year, and my favorite time to share with others. I love to see all of the decorations and traditions that so many of you have. It's so wonderful to share in all that is beautiful and blessed about this amazing holiday season.
The tree is done, the garlands are hung, now it's time to enjoy and share with friends and family. I was hoping to have this post up by the 1st, but of course that didn't happen. I was thinking that I would try to post a picture each day leading up to Christmas, already I am behind by two days, but hey, what else is new. So here are my shots from the 1st and 2nd of December, respectively.
Just a squirrel, trying to get a nut.:)
The dining room looks so peaceful here, a rarity I assure you.
I hope your holidays are off to a successful start!
